No wonder cashflow is hurting.
Since 1 July 2026, super has to reach employee funds within 7 business days of every payday. Your invoices? Still on 30, 60 or 90 day terms.

A real example: labour-dependent business, weekly payroll pressure.

Payday Super hits labour-heavy businesses hardest. More staff on weekly or fortnightly pay runs means more super out the door, every pay run. Here's how one WA home builder bridged the gap.

Scaling the workforce without draining the float.

A WA home builder was expanding into new contracts and needed to hire more staff and secure supplies. Every new hire added another weekly wage and another weekly super obligation under the new Payday Super rules.

Meanwhile client progress claims and invoices were still being paid on standard construction terms, weeks after wages fell due. Rather than slow the hire or push back on contracts, the business was referred to a specialist lender. $300K working capital was approved in 1 day and settled in 3, giving them cover to hire, mobilise and lock in the contracts without the cash gap biting.

Delay other business spending

  • Supports eligible everyday operating expenses
  • Keeps supplier and operating relationships intact
  • Rates, fees, terms and eligibility depend on the provider

Working capital funding isn't necessarily suitable for every business. It's important to consider the total cost of borrowing and whether repayments are affordable.

Payday Super, common questions

The specific questions business owners tend to ask about Payday Super and working capital before they start the quiz.

What is Payday Super?
Payday Super is an Australian Government reform that commenced on 1 July 2026. It generally requires employers to pay superannuation contributions with each pay run instead of quarterly, with contributions reaching employees' super funds within seven business days, subject to exceptions.
How does Payday Super affect business cash flow?
For businesses previously paying super quarterly, the change means funds need to be available more frequently. This can affect cash flow planning, especially when customer payments and business expenses fall at different times.
Can a working capital loan help my business manage cash flow?
Potentially. Depending on the lender's criteria, working capital finance may be available to support eligible everyday operating expenses and manage cash flow fluctuations. Borrowing adds costs and repayment commitments.
Is this a loan specifically for paying superannuation?
No. This page is about exploring general business working capital options. Any permitted use of loan funds depends on the relevant lender's terms and assessment.
Can I apply if my business has overdue super payments?
You can complete the eligibility quiz, but overdue superannuation liabilities may affect lender eligibility and approval. Some lenders may not accept applications involving outstanding statutory obligations.
Does a business loan remove my Payday Super obligations?
No. Employers remain responsible for meeting their superannuation obligations and applicable deadlines, regardless of any financing arrangements.
Will completing the quiz affect my credit score?
Business Loans Connect does not conduct a credit check when you complete the quiz. A participating broker or lender may conduct credit checks as part of its assessment or application process.
Is Business Loans Connect free to use?
Yes. BLC does not charge you for completing the quiz or receiving an introduction. We may receive referral fees or commissions from participating funding partners.

Why we built Business Loans Connect

Hi, I'm Chris Stanton, founder of Business Loans Connect.

After more than 20 years in business, I'd seen too many Australian business owners spend weeks approaching different lenders. Others gave up after one no from their bank.

We built a network of specialist funding partners, including business finance brokers and direct lenders. You take one quiz, we make the introduction, and they assess your funding needs and available options.

  • No calling 10 different lenders
  • No unnecessary paperwork
  • One quiz. One introduction.

If we can save you time and connect you with a specialist funding partner, we've done our job.

Need more flexibility with your business cash flow?

Payday Super has changed how many Australian employers manage their outgoing payments. If your business could benefit from additional working capital, take our free 60-second quiz to see if you qualify to be connected with a specialist funding partner.
